Herefordshire Young Farmer’s County Chairman Gets On His Bike
County Chairman of the Herefordshire Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs, Mr Gareth Watkins has been busy training for his marathon cycle ride to Torquay.
Gareth left from the Young Farmers Centre on Monday and is planning on arriving in Torquay in time to join in all the fun at the National Federation of Young Farmers Clubs Annual Convention this weekend.
Gareth is being supported along the way by fellow Welsh Newton YFC member Mr Charles Ward. Gareth is looking for sponsors for his trip and all the funds raised will be divided between the Charles Renton Unit at Hereford County Hospital and the Herefordshire Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs.
Another group of Young Farmers heading for Torquay are from Turton YFC in the Lancashire Federation. Club members are travelling from Lancashire to the Annual Convention on two vintage tractors. They will be raising money for Cancer Research UK.
